Newly admitted students placed at Kenyatta University (KU) through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) can now apply to transfer to the university’s Mombasa Campus, with the application deadline set for September 11, 2026.
The university announced the opportunity through its official social media pages, saying eligible students can transfer under the approved KUCCPS student transfer framework.
According to the notice, students interested in studying at the Coast can apply to join various programmes offered at the Mombasa Campus. The university has encouraged newly admitted KUCCPS students to visit the transfer portal to view the available courses and follow the application instructions.
One of the key benefits for applicants is that the transfer processing fee has been waived, reducing the financial burden associated with changing campuses.

The university also confirmed that hostel accommodation is available within the Mombasa Campus, providing students with an option for accommodation as they begin their studies. Students who have already secured and paid for hostel accommodation at the university’s Main Campus will also not be required to make another payment, according to the notice.
Applicants can access the transfer portal at transfer.ku.ac.ke, where they can find information on the courses available at the Mombasa Campus and follow the step-by-step application process.
The transfer opportunity provides newly admitted students with an option to pursue their university education in Mombasa while benefiting from the facilities and programmes offered by Kenyatta University.
