The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) has released a revised programme for the 2026 national Term Two games, extending the championship schedule and providing fresh details on venues, accommodation and competition dates ahead of the highly anticipated event in Kiambu County.
According to the updated programme, the national championships will now run from July 26 to August 3, 2026, with activities beginning with referees’ clinics on July 26 and 27.
Teams from across the country will arrive on July 27 before observing a rest and tree-planting day on July 28.
The official opening ceremony and the first day of competition will take place on July 29.
Matches and contests across various disciplines will continue from July 29 to August 2, with the finals and closing ceremony scheduled for August 2.
Participating teams and officials are expected to depart on August 3.
Kiambu County, under the Central Region, will host the national championships, with M-PESA Academy serving as the main venue.

The facility will host football, volleyball, basketball 3×3, netball, rugby sevens, racquet games, chess and scrabble competitions.
Mang’u High School has been designated as the venue for cricket and beach volleyball, while Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) will host baseball matches.
Accommodation arrangements have also been finalised, with girls’ teams set to stay at Mary Hill Girls High School, while boys’ teams will be accommodated at Mang’u High School.
The championships will feature a wide range of disciplines including football, volleyball, beach volleyball, netball, basketball 3×3, rugby sevens, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, chess, scrabble, lacrosse, cricket and baseball.
The revised schedule marks a significant adjustment from the earlier programme and gives participating schools additional time to prepare for what is expected to be one of the most competitive editions of the national school games.
The event has received a major boost from KCB Bank, which committed KSh20 million towards supporting the 2026 KSSSA Term Two Games.
The sponsorship is expected to facilitate the smooth organisation of the championships while enhancing the experience for thousands of student-players who will converge in Kiambu in pursuit of national glory.
