KPSEA, KCPE exams kick off in earnest in Nyamira

Both Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations started early today in earnest in Nyamira.

Examination Centre Managers, Supervisors and invigilators were led by Nyamira County Commissioner Michael Lesimamu to collect examination papers from storage at his office at 6.00 AM.

Mr. Lesimamu who was flanked by Nyamira County Director of Education Boniface Ouko thanked teachers for braving the chilly morning and reporting on time to collect the papers.

“This is a very important task that has been put in your hands. Go and discharge your duties diligently,” he said.

Mr. Ouko disclosed that 20,583 candidates will sit for the KCPE examination where 18,281 are from public schools while 2,302 are from private schools.

In addition, 7,200 pioneer candidates will sit for the first KPSEA examinations.

Both officials wished candidates the best as they assured them of a conducive environment as they do the examinations.
