The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) West Pokot Branch newly elected Executive Secretary Dorcas Cheyech Lotome assumed office on Thursday February 19, 2026 at the KNUT office in Makutano town.
The handing over ceremony witnessed by other KNUT elected leaders, show the outgoing Executive Secretary Martin Enriko Sembelo handed over the KNUT constitution to the New Executive Secretary, Dorcas Cheyech Lotome.
Sembelo wished Lotome the best of lack as she embarks on the duty of serving teachers.

Lotome on her part promised to serve teachers of West Pokot County equally and with dedication.
“I thank Mr. Sembelo for the great legacy he has left in KNUT West Pokot Branch and I wish him the best of lack in other avenues.In solidarity, I will work with all the elected leaders as a team for the betterment of our teachers,” Lotome said.
Lotome also thanked and appreciated all the teachers for conducting the West Pokot KNUT Elections peacefully and orderly.

“I will serve all the teachers of West Pokot County without any discrimination,” she added.
The event ended with Sembelo and Lotome all in smiles as they take photos symbolizing a smooth and perfect transition.
Among other elected leaders present were: Joel Partich-Chairman, Joseph Rusii-Assistant Executive Secretary, Christine Kasheusheu –Treasure, Veronica Lopoyetum-Vice treasure, Fridah Arusho -Woman Representative, and Wesley Mosop -PWD Representative.
