Mwingi branch Executive Secretary Michael Munyasya Mbutu has expressed his interest in the coming Knut national elections.

Mbutu who spoke at Kibwezi during Kibwezi branch Knut elections said he is eyeing for National executive Council seat (NEC) and called on other teachers to support him.

He was recently elected as the new Mwingi branch executive secretary after the former long serving Jonathan Mutambu retired. Mutambu used to occupy NEC seat as well in the national level.

“I will go for that, I believe leadership is something in me and given by God. I was BEC member before I was elevated to Executive secretary. I believe in God for the victory and if I do not win then I will know my time has not yet come,” said Mbutu.

He pointed out that there is need for reforms in the union, adding that he will spearhead that if elected.
