Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across Kenya have just weeks to prepare after the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) announced that registration for the November 2026 Business and Technical examinations will open on July 6, 2026, with no exceptions for late registration.
In a notice issued through its official social media platforms, KNEC said all registrations must be completed strictly online through its official examinations portal and warned that no provision for late registration will be made under any circumstances.
“Registration of candidates for the November 2026 Business and Technical examinations will commence on July 6, 2026. Registration for all examinations is done online,” KNEC stated.
“NOTE: There is no provision for late registration.”
Registration calendar
The Council outlined a three-series calendar covering the November 2026, March 2027, and July 2027 examination cycles.
For the November 2026 series, institutional candidates, including those undertaking Business Single and Group subjects, will have from July 6 to September 11, 2026, to complete registration.
The March 2027 series registration window will open on November 2, 2026, and close on January 8, 2027.
The July 2027 series will follow, with registration running from March 1 to May 7, 2027.
Coursework and project deadlines
KNEC also set firm deadlines for the submission of coursework assessment and project marks.
For the November 2026 examinations, the submission deadline is October 23, 2026.
The corresponding deadlines for the March and July 2027 series are February 26, 2027, and June 25, 2027, respectively.
Practical and theory examinations
On practical examinations, KNEC said the collection of advance instructions for practical papers in the November 2026 series will begin on October 12, 2026.
Hospitality practical examinations will follow a structured planning schedule beginning November 11, 2026, for the first cycle.
Theory and practical examinations for the November 2026 series will run from November 16 to December 4, 2026, with similar phased arrangements outlined for the 2027 examination series.
