The Kisumu football fraternity is eagerly awaiting the verdict of the Kisumu Central Jury Committee, which is expected to rule today on appeals filed by Kisumu Boys High School following their 2-0 defeat to Kisumu Day in the sub-county football final played on Tuesday at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo.
The outcome of the case could have significant implications for the final standings and qualification process, with the appeals raising serious concerns over player eligibility and registration.
Among the issues presented before the jury is an allegation of impersonation involving a Kisumu Day defender identified as ‘Nicolas’. Kisumu Boys claim that Nicolas is not the player’s real name and have requested investigations into the authenticity of his registration details.
A second impersonation claim was also lodged against another Kisumu Day player popularly known as “Pogba,” with the appellants questioning the identity under which the player participated in the competition.
In a separate case, Kisumu Boys have challenged the eligibility of Kisumu Day’s highly-rated midfielder Mwala.
The appeal alleges that the player possesses two Unique Personal Identifier (UPI) numbers, raising questions about his age and compliance with school sports regulations.

The case has generated widespread debate among school sports followers, with many keen to see whether the jury will uphold the match result or impose sanctions if any of the allegations are proven.
Kisumu Day secured a convincing 2-0 victory in the final and celebrated what appeared to be a successful campaign.
However, the appeals have cast uncertainty over the outcome as both schools await the committee’s decision.
The Kisumu Central Jury Committee is expected to announce its verdict later today, bringing clarity to one of the most closely watched school football disputes in the region this season.
The ruling could determine whether Kisumu Day retains its title or whether further action will be taken based on the findings of the appeals process.
