Nyumba Kumi groups in Kitutu Chache South constituency , in Kisii County have threatened to invade Mosocho police station and eject the police over alleged corruption.
Led by their chairman Richard Okemwa,they cited incidents where they arrested suspects and took them to the station to be forwarded to court to face the law but they bought their freedom out from the cells.
“We are law abiding citizens set to help the government to maintain law order and peace but we are betrayed by these rogue police officers.” Said the chairman.

He narrated how a Form Three school girl at St.Patrick Mosocho Secondary school was raped by a known suspect at dawn and the matter was reported to his office that arrested the suspect and took him to the station but he was mysteriously released without recording statement.
The chairman who was flanked by his aides appealed to Kisii County police Commander Ronald Kirui to transfer any security officers who have stayed in one station for more than three years to other places to a void impunity.

They accused the police officers in Mosocho station of cohabiting with school girls and other people’s wives saying that this has led to moral decadence in the community.
When Ronald Kirui was contacted to comment on the matter, he denied of having been briefed on the allegations but promised to follow up the matter and act accordingly.
