The Chair of Kisii County Education Board Prof. Henry Onderi has advised parents in the region to be calm concerning the potential increase in secondary school fees next year.
During a recent address in Kisii County, the Chairman urged residents to refrain from indulging in baseless speculations and rumors concerning school fees at this time.
Instead, he encouraged them to focus on supporting their children as they navigate the ongoing examinations.
Additionally, Prof. Onderi emphasized the importance of heeding instructions from CS Machogu who holds the authority to make official announcements about any changes to education policies in the country.
Highlighting the fact that many of those involved in shaping the education sector are themselves parents with children in school, the Chairman advised parents to rely on official circulars sent to school administrators regarding changes in education policies.
He also commended CS Machogu for his recent clarification that there would be no increase in secondary school fees for the upcoming academic year.
The Chairman further cautioned parents against extravagant spending during the impending Christmas celebrations.
Instead, he urged them to prudently allocate their resources, setting aside funds for the payment of school fees in the coming year.
