Kinale Girls have been crowned champions of the 2026 East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Rugby Sevens tournament, capping an impressive campaign at this year’s games held in Morogoro, Tanzania.
The Kenyan side secured the title by winning two of their three matches, suffering their only defeat in a tightly fought 12-10 loss to Uganda’s Jinja Secondary School. Kinale responded with authority, routing Murongoine Secondary School 43-0 before sealing their campaign with a commanding 29-0 win over fellow Kenyan side Kimobo.
Kinale finished top of the girls’ standings on seven points, a tally they shared with both Jinja SS and Kimobo. It was their superior points difference of +70 that ultimately separated them from their closest rivals and confirmed their championship status. Across the tournament, Kinale scored 82 points while conceding just 12, a record that highlighted both their attacking edge and defensive discipline.

Jinja SS settled for the runners-up position with a +62-point difference, having recorded two wins and a single loss. Kimobo rounded out the podium in third place with a +35 margin, while Murongoine SS finished fourth without registering a single win, having conceded 167 points and failing to score throughout the competition.
The title win further cements Kinale Girls’ growing status as a force in school rugby and stands as a notable highlight for Kenya’s performance at this year’s regional FEASSA Games.
