A postmortem examination has revealed that Charity Kitur, a teacher at Chebisas Boys High School, was violently assaulted and forced to ingest a poisonous substance before her death, according to new investigative findings. The doctor who conducted the examination reported that Charity had been struck twice on the head with a blunt object and choked before the substance was administered.
Investigators established that the assault was allegedly carried out by her boyfriend, Bob Kosgei. A Dasani water bottle containing an unidentified substance was recovered at the scene and taken in as evidence. According to the postmortem findings, the substance was consistent with damage observed in Charity’s stomach, deepening the questions surrounding her final hours.
Charity’s death had initially drawn public attention alongside the subsequent reported death by suicide of Kosgei. The latest findings have now added a troubling new dimension to the case, shifting the narrative from an unexplained death to one involving alleged violence.

Charity was the eldest daughter in her family and had recently secured employment with the Teachers Service Commission. She had begun teaching at Chebisas Boys High School, a role that had offered her family renewed hope of financial stability. The postmortem findings and the recovered evidence, including the water bottle, are expected to form a central part of the material investigators will rely on as they work to establish the full circumstances of her death. Authorities have indicated that the legal and investigative process into both deaths remains ongoing.
