The Kenya Women Teachers Association (KEWOTA) yesterday held a landmark orientation meeting in Kapsoit, Kericho county, bringing together key education stakeholders, Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) officials and local leaders in a strong show of unity and shared purpose.
The stakeholders’ and chapter leaders’ orientation session was successfully conducted at FG Gardens in Kapsoit under the leadership of Yvonne Omondi from the association’s head office.
The forum aimed at strengthening collaboration, enhancing leadership structures and charting the way forward for women teachers in the region.
Among those in attendance were coordinator Nancy Rono and other leaders, including Joyce Rotich, Fanice Shava, Kiprono David, Simon Peter, Mutai Mtandao and Symon Langat.

The leaders reiterated the importance of teamwork, professionalism and collective advocacy in advancing the welfare of teachers.
The event attracted attention from education stakeholders and was captured by education and social media commentator Mutai Mtandao, who commended the newly elected KNUT Women Representative, Joyce Boset, for her active participation and support.
He described the engagement as timely and progressive, noting that unity among education players is key to strengthening the teaching fraternity.
Speaking after the meeting, KEWOTA Chief Executive Officer Benter Opande welcomed the overwhelming support from stakeholders and lauded the Kericho team for hosting a successful forum.

She further invited members and partners to the association’s official office opening at Imarisha Plaza, 7th Floor, marking another milestone in KEWOTA’s expansion and service delivery.
The meeting underscored KEWOTA’s growing influence and commitment to empowering women teachers while fostering collaboration within Kenya’s education sector.
