Kanduyi Member of Parliament, (MP) John Makali today convened a high-stakes engagement with head teachers from all 93 public primary schools in the constituency to fast track school development.

The high-level meeting, attended by all eight Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Kanduyi, focused on a unified vision to elevate educational standards, close equity gaps, and ensure that no child is left behind.

In his address, the MP underscored the urgent need for collective action and stakeholder synergy, citing education as the cornerstone of sustainable development in the region.

“We are charting a transformative path — one defined by unity, excellence, and deliberate investment in our children’s future. Every school matters, and every child counts,” he said.

According Makali, to date, 74 schools have benefitted from newly constructed or substantially upgraded infrastructure. The MP also affirmed that the remaining 19 institutions are on course for completion, signaling near-total infrastructure coverage across the constituency’s public primary sector.

The convergence of all Kanduyi MCAs lent weight to the forum, highlighting bipartisan commitment to the education agenda. Their presence was widely interpreted as a show of political cohesion and unwavering support for grassroots development.

Education officials praised the MP’s approach, describing the meeting as timely and results-oriented. “This is a clear signal that Kanduyi is serious about not just talking development, but delivering it,” said one participating head teacher.

Today’s engagement forms part of a broader constituency-wide strategy to entrench quality education as a pillar of progress. With infrastructure targets nearly achieved and leadership aligned, Kanduyi appears poised to set a benchmark for rural education transformation in Bungoma County and beyond
