Learning came to a standstill at Ngiluni Primary School in Mbooni East sub county, Makueni county after irate parents stormed the school and assaulted teachers before withdrawing their children from the school.
The parented lamented that the school posted poor results in last year’s national exams hence they want the head teacher transferred.
Mbooni Sub-County Director of Education Peter Mulwa confirmed the incident, revealing further that the parents forcibly entered the school compound carrying blunt objects while chanting for the removal of the head teacher.
The parents into the staffroom and attacked the teachers before making the head teacher do frog jumps out of the school compound.
The parents thereafter proceeded to the educational office in Mbooni to report the incident.
“We have received terrible information about one of the teachers being attacked by irate parents complaining about poor results. We have sent security personnel to the affected institution, and the school has already been closed down.” Mulwa said.
