The history was on Saturday January 11 written after the entire Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Nyando branch officials were voted back into office.
Incumbent Executive Secretary Ephraim Kananga secured his seat by garnering 1016 votes against his rival Joseph Obala who collected some 413 votes.
The position of the branch chairman was secured by the current office holder Fredrick Kibwana who collected 1239 against Isaiah Ounda who had 193 votes.
Victor Owino sailed through to win the vice chairman’s position with 1073 votes beating David Ndalo who had 381votes. David O. K’opiyo, went in unopposed for the position of assistant secretary while Anne Agai cruised through unopposed for the position of treasurer
For the position of assistant treasurer Barack Ambasa collected 832votes against Levi Makita who solicited 596 votes
Nancy Omollo garnered 816votes 816 votes against May Aluoch who secured some 635 votes to clinched the position of woman representative.
Aetoni went through unopposed for the position of people with disabilities.

For the northern cluster corridor women representative Lilian Owino sailed through with 570votes against Judith Kosido who collected some 184 votes.
Lyllian Mbuji went unopposed for the southern cluster women representative unopposed
Duncan Ochieng’ went in unopposed for the West Nyakach branch executive committee member position while for the lower Nyakach Elizabeth Mbira secured 245 votes against Dickens Warah who collected 134 votes.
For upper Nyakach, Kevin Ouma Ogodo harvested 245 votes against Jackton Onditi who managed a paltry 76votes while Peter Kwach sailed through unopposed for Miwani while for Muhoroni Malaki Opande had 160 votes against David Oyaro with 91votes.
For Nyando Paul Winyol won with 134 votes against Paul Okal who got 80 votes and Paul Onyango who secured 65 votes with Absalom Orege quitting the race.
