The farewell ceremony for former Orero Boys High School chief principal Dickens Bula has been rescheduled to July 10, 2026, in a move aimed at allowing wider participation and ensuring a grand celebration of one of the region’s most influential education leaders.

The organizing committee announced that the event will now be held at the Orero High School Main Grounds from 8:00 a.m., following consultations with key stakeholders involved in planning the occasion.

According to the committee, the decision was reached to give more alumni, parents, teachers, education stakeholders, friends, and well-wishers an opportunity to attend what is expected to be a landmark event in the education sector.

Bula, whose leadership journey spans several decades, is credited with transforming institutions and mentoring generations of students, earning admiration across the country. Organizers say the farewell is intended not only to celebrate his career but also to recognize the lasting impact of his service on education and community development.

The announcement comes as preparations intensify for what many have described as a historic gathering, bringing together members of the Orero High School and Oriwo Boys National School families, among other stakeholders.

While acknowledging that some attendees had already made plans based on the earlier date, the committee appealed for understanding, noting that the change would help deliver a more inclusive and well-organized event befitting Mr. Bula’s stature.

“We want this occasion to reflect the magnitude of Mr. Bula’s contribution to education and society. The additional time will enable broader participation and better preparations for a truly memorable celebration,” the organizers said.

Expectations are high that the farewell will attract hundreds of former students, education leaders, and community members seeking to pay tribute to a man whose leadership and vision have left a lasting mark on countless lives.

With the new date now confirmed, organizers have called on all those who worked with, learned from, or were inspired by Mr. Bula to mark their calendars and join the celebrations on July 10, 2026.

For many, the event will be more than a farewell,it will be a celebration of a legacy that continues to shape lives long after the end of an illustrious career.
