A fire broke out at Jomo Kenyatta Boys’ High School in Bahati Constituency, Nakuru County, early on Monday, July 13, destroying property of unknown value.
Preliminary reports indicate the blaze erupted following unrest at the school, although the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear and have yet to be established.
By the time of publication, the cause of the fire had not been determined, while authorities were still assessing the extent of the damage, which is expected to amount to millions of shillings.
Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene and worked to contain the blaze, though efforts were reportedly hampered as the fire rapidly spread through the affected structures.
