Family of slain officer appeals for help to educate surviving children

The family of a slain forest officer from Kisii County has appealed to well-wishers to help them educate the children of the deceased.

Speaking at Eremo village in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency, Alloys Bikeri said his son was allegedly attacked by robbers in his rental house in Migori at night.

Bikeri said the deceased was the sole bread winner and is survived by three wives and eleven children.

“I appeal to the police to bring the suspects to book and to the public that help us educate these children,” he said.

One of the widows said three children are in secondary school and appealed to well-wishers to assist them continue their studies by paying school fees for them.

Kisii County Commissioner Tom Anchere assured the family that the police will not leave any stone unturned during the investigations.

“We’re working with officers from Migori county to unravel the truth. We appeal to the family to remain patient and give the police a chance to carry out independent investigations,” he said.

He asked the family to trust on God for strength to deal with the loss.
