A sombre mood has engulfed Mbeere North sub-county after a high school teacher committed suicide reportedly over stress.
The 32-year-old Dennis Mwaniki Njeru, alias Mukono, took his life at his house in Siakago.
According to Mbeere North sub-county Police Commander Eric Yego, the teacher was found lying on his bed with blood and white foam oozing from his nose.
The Police recovered a suspected insecticide in the house and a suicide note indicating what he described as a disappointment after failing to get a solution for the stress he had.
The note said that he tried talking to seventeen people and his girlfriend to get a remedy but all was in vain.
“I may look stupid but I have shared my stress with 17 people none talked to me, let’s meet in heaven,” part of the note read.
Detectives are analyzing his mobile phone data to seek information that may be related to the incident.
In addition, the Police found title deeds and stamps which they suspect might have been used to defraud people.
Mwaniki in his suicide note described his final wishes including his desire to be buried on Valentine’s Day at Kavengero where he is said to have put up a house.
He also instructed that his girlfriend read his eulogy during the burial and asked his family to share his property with any children he might have sired and not known about.
The late teacher also asked the Speaker of Embu County Assembly Josiah Thiriku and Nthawa ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Sammy Tito to organize his sendoff.
