Drama as students repel rioting parents demanding transfer of principal

There was drama in Muiu Secondary School in Kaiti, Makueni County, after students stoned parents who were demanding transfer of the school principal.

The angry parents had invaded the school over misconduct and indiscipline, accusing the principal of complacency and failure to stem pregnancies in the school.

Things started going south when the students, apparently their own children, pelted them with stones and forcing them to flee to safety.

In a quick turnaround, the parents shifted their ire to the teachers, accusing them of inciting the students against them, claiming they were only seeking audience with the principal.

“Those students who have stoned us are our own children, this is indiscipline of highest order,” one of the parents said.

They alleged that the principal was a habitual drunkard who also chewed miraa in the full glare of the children.

The parents want the Ministry of Education to transfer him since he has failed to perform his duties.
