World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is a global robotics competition for young people that use Lego Mindstorms robotics kits manufactured by LEGO Education.
This year, Merishaw School’s Robo Team (Junior Category) and The Vex Team (Senior Category) emerged victors in the WRO 2023 Kenya Edition.
The competition took place from 10th to 12th August at Moi Girls Nairobi.
Despite the fierce competition, the young men squashed their competitors in the true sense of the Moran spirit causing ripples in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and robotics world.
Following the triumph, the Merishaw Vex Team will be representing the country in South Africa from 8th to 12th of September.
The Robo Junior Team will as well head to Panama from 12th to 17th November to take on the world’s best after emerging as the overall winners in their Mission Category.
This victory comes as the Soccer Academy heads to Barcelona for a week worth of thrilling Soccer Bonanza.
Kudos to all the teams that participated for their unrelenting team spirit as well as the team of STEM teachers that offered continuous guidance and support.
