The 2023/2024 Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) placement results will be announced today by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu at the Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete in Nairobi.
The 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) students will be able to view the results on the KUCCPS portal and know the universities and colleges they have been placed.
CS Machogu will also launch a new portal for students to apply for scholarships and loans from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and the Universities Fund.
This will be the first time that the new funding model for higher education will be used.
The new model is primarily aimed at ensuring students from extremely poor backgrounds get equal opportunity of pursuing college or university education by getting higher capitation compared to their counterparts from able families.
Students who selected courses in Public Universities will be eligible to access both Government scholarships and loans, while those who selected Private Universities will be eligible for Government loans only.
A total of 173,127 new cohort of students will be joining universities and 145,325 students be joining TVET institutions in the 2023/24 financial year.
