Kakamega County Deputy Governor Philip Kutima  has assured residents that they will soon be able to be awarded bursaries after the passing of the financial budget.
Prof. Kutima who was addressing parents at Friends Bulupi Secondary School in Kakamega North Sub County said the county through its assembly had re-introduced both the ward bursary and ward development levy back to the county budget after a lot of public outcry.
“We stopped the bursary and ward development levy after the National Government announced that education was to be free and we as the county redirected the monies towards supporting Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) and county polytechnics,” he said.
