Kisii County gubernatorial aspirant Chris Obure has pledged to work hand in hand with the private sector to invest in education to provide quality education if elected.
Obure who is a former Finance Minister and Kisii county senator was speaking at Karmel Park Hotel during the County gubernatorial debate.
“Investors are businessmen who compete for quality. Given the opportunity to partner in the education sector they will compete to produce quality and in the process it is our children who will benefit,” he commented.
Asked why he thinks he has the advantage over his competitors, he brought to attention his good education background, working experience and wider knowledge of the world that he will tap into to take the county forward.
He said that his long experience as Member of Parliament, Minister for Roads and Transport, Senator and finally the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Transport will bring to the table rich service delivery to the county.
“I believe in sound education and business. These are the centre of development and is the package I have for the people of Kisii County if elected,” Obure promised.
Other runners in the race for the top county seat are Ezekiel Machogu, Prof Sam Ongeri, Nyamweya Oyongo and Simba Arati.
