Gubernatorial aspirant to create teaching opportunities for jobless graduates

By Enock Okong’o

Kisii County gubernatorial aspirant Chris Obure has said that his priority if elected to the seat will be the creation of  job opportunities in education for local graduates.

“I will recall all education graduates who have stayed out for a long time for attachments and internships and introduce induction courses for the other graduates into education,” he said.

The aspirant said that there were many graduates with general Bachelor of Arts degrees who have stayed at home for more than fifteen years after completion of their University education.

He said that this lot can train in Post-graduate Education and be posted to schools to teach in the demanding Competency Based Curriculum.

Obure was addressing the public at Ogembo town when he visited the town  in preparation for its upgrading into municipality status.

Chris Obure who is the former Kisii County senator thanked the outgoing Kisii County Governor James Ongwae for facilitating the upgrade.

He asked the county government to give employment priority to the locals when the municipality will finally start to operate.
