Cheptalal Girls’ High School in Konoin sub-county, Bomet County, is celebrating one of its finest volleyball talents after its Form Four student Cynthia Chepkemoi secured a spot in the Kenya Pipeline Volleyball Team as the club competes in the national league.

Chepkemoi, a standout left attacker, has risen through the ranks with impressive performances that have put her among the most promising young players in the region.

Her powerful spikes, composure on court, and consistency were instrumental in guiding Cheptalal Girls to clinch the Bomet county girls’ volleyball title last year.

The team extended their dominance to the regional stage, reaching the Rift Valley finals where they finished runners-up after a closely contested loss to Kesogon Mixed secondary school.

Despite the defeat, Chepkemoi’s individual brilliance caught the attention of top clubs, paving the way for her move to the national stage.

Cheptalal Girls’ High School principal Florence Koech hailed the achievement, describing Chepkemoi as a disciplined and focused student-player.

She noted that the milestone reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing both academic excellence and sporting talent, adding that the entire institution and Bomet County community are proud of her success.

Kenya Pipeline, popularly known as the “Oilers,” is one of the country’s most decorated volleyball clubs. Founded in 1984 and based in Nairobi, the team has built a strong legacy both locally and on the continental stage.

They recently secured bronze at the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship after defeating Carthage Volleyball Club 3-1.

Under head coach Geoffrey Omondi, the team remains a dominant force and is currently battling for top honors in the national league. Chepkemoi’s addition is expected to bring fresh energy and attacking strength to the squad as they pursue further success.

Her journey from school courts in Konoin to one of Kenya’s top volleyball clubs is a testament to hard work, discipline, and determination.

As she steps into the elite level, Chepkemoi not only carries her dreams but also the hopes of a region inspired by her remarkable rise.
