The 2026 Term Two games under Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association(KSSSA) will officially kick off on May 9–10 with zonal preliminaries across Bungoma County, setting the stage for a highly competitive sports season featuring football, volleyball, basketball 3×3, rugby 7’s, netball and indoor games.
According to the organiser, the schools are finalizing preparations after months of training as they target county glory, Rift-Valley slots and national qualification.
The competition will progress through zonal finals on May 23–24, sub-county finals on June 12–13, and county finals from June 17–20, before advancing to regional finals at Bungoma High School, which will also host the Western region showdowns. Winners will proceed to nationals in Thika and later East Africa Games in Arusha.
Football remains the most anticipated discipline with schools like Bungoma High School, Kibabii High School, Toloso High School, Chesamisi High School and Bukembe High School all sharpening squads after intense training sessions. Other disciplines are also expected to deliver surprises as emerging talents seek to shine on the county stage.

With excitement building across the county, fans are expected to flock to venues as the race for KSSSA glory intensifies, with updates being closely followed through sports correspondent Joseph Okome.
The competition officials have urged schools to uphold discipline and fair play as the tournament also serves as a key talent identification platform for county and national selectors who will be monitoring emerging athletes across all disciplines.
Security arrangements and venue readiness have been enhanced to ensure smooth matches and safety of players and supporters throughout the competition period.
