Police in Bomet County have launched a man-hunt for a pastor who allegedly went missing with a form four girl from Ngererit Secondary School.
The bizarre incident is said to have taken place after the pastor conducted a prayer service dedicated to the form four candidates in the same school.
In a police report filed at Konoin police station, the suspect was allegedly last seen boarding a Boda boda with the student at Mogogosiek trading centre.
Thereafter, they disappeared into a dusty Murram road without further trace.
It is speculated that the two crossed over to the neighbouring Narok County.
According to Bomet County education director Leonard Ngugi, his department alerted the area Officer Commanding Station (OCS) on the incident.
“It’s unfortunate that the student who should now be revising for her national exams is nowhere to be found,” Ngugi lamented.
Stephen Kosgei, President of the Bomet County Parents Teachers Association (PTA), urged schools to exercise extreme caution when allowing visitors to interact with children.
