Baringo Kuppet members refuse to confirm Kimosop as branch boss

Zachariah Kipsaina Nyomboi has been elected the Executive Secretary of the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) Baringo branch.

Acting Executive Secretary Christopher Kimosop, who had hoped to be confirmed in the elections, came a distant fourth while Johana Chebon came second in the elections held on January 23.

Kipsaina garnered 425 votes, Chebon 320 votes, Gladys Kipsang 225 votes, while Kimosop managed 183 votes only.

David Kibet was elected chairman with 669 votes, beating Michael Tuitoek (421 votes) and David Toroitich (120 votes).

For the position of Treasurer, Fanuel Kiplagat Kipsoi emerged the winner with 548 votes as Richard Kibet came second with 438 votes.

The Vice Chairman position went to Zakayo Kibet while Paul Kipruto Koech was elected Assistant Executive Secretary.

The newly elected officials pledged to fight for better terms and conditions of service for members.
