Residents of Kamahuha ward in Maragua, Murang’a County will have their primary school pupils given free food and sanitary towels if Gilbert Maina Muhia alias Maina Baba is elected as the ward’s MCA in the August 9 polls.
While speaking to supporters at Kahaini market, Maina promised that once elected he will swiftly embark on initiating a feeding programme for primary schools in the area.
He also promised to provide sanitary towels to every girl child to ensure that pupils continue with their studies without interruptions.

Maina said that most of parts of Maragua including Kamahuha are semi-arid/hardship areas and most vulnerable pupils miss out classes due to hunger and inaccessible sanitary towels.
“Once I become MCA, I will strive to ensure our children are not driven out of classes due to hunger and lack of sanitary towels. After handling these issues, I will ensure all needy children get bursaries to help them realize their dreams,” Maina said
Among his agenda is also to empower his electorate through horticultural farming that favors the area and ensure that water scarcity in the area will be a thing of the past.
