Andersen Girls were crowned the 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term Two netball champions after defeating Western Region champions Bukokholo 49-37 in an entertaining final played on Thursday at M-Pesa Foundation Academy in Thika.
The victory saw Andersen, Rift Valley representatives, become the new queens of Kenyan secondary school netball, succeeding 2025 champions Oyugi Ogango Girls, who did not make it to this year’s national championships after being eliminated during the Nyanza Regional games.
Andersen stamped their authority throughout the tournament, reaching the final after a convincing 59-25 victory over Coast Region champions Kaya Tiwi in the semi-finals.
Bukokholo booked their place in the title clash after dismantling Central Region champions Kinale Girls 70-20 in the other semi-final.
The final was expected to be closely contested, but Andersen’s quick ball movement, disciplined defending and sharp shooting proved too much for Bukokholo.
They maintained their composure throughout the match to seal a 49-37 victory and cap an impressive unbeaten run in the tournament.
In the third-place playoff, Kaya Tiwi recovered from their semi-final defeat to thrash Kinale Girls 57-17 and finish third overall.
The KCB-sponsored championships attracted the best secondary school netball teams from across the country, with Andersen emerging as the standout side after consistently producing impressive performances from the preliminary stages to the final.

The triumph marks a new chapter in the national schools’ netball competition as Andersen lifted the coveted title for the first time, ending Oyugi Ogango Girls’ reign after the Nyanza champions failed to navigate the regional qualifiers and secure a place at the national finals.
