Alupe University has been recognised as the Best Higher Institution of Learning at the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Western @60 Business Expo and Awards Gala Dinner held at Busia Polytechnic.
The award places the institution among the region’s leading players in education, innovation and enterprise, underscoring its growing contribution to socio-economic transformation in Western Kenya. The gala dinner brought together prominent businesses, institutions and development partners from across the region as part of the KNCCI Western @60 celebrations, with the expo providing a platform for showcasing enterprises, innovations and initiatives driving economic growth and development.
Among the organisations participating in the event were CFAO, Davis and Shirtliff, the Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA), St. Elizabeth Special Hospital, Kenya Climate Innovation Centre and Kenya Industrial Estates. Alupe University was represented by Prof. Arnety Makokha, Dr Isaac Manje, Felix Sabwa, Victoria Magar and other members of the university community.

The recognition comes at a time when institutions of higher learning are increasingly being called upon to go beyond traditional teaching and contribute directly to innovation, entrepreneurship, research and community development.
