A family in Masaba South Su-County is at pains following the disappearance of their daughter who is a student at Ichuni Secondary School.
According to the Mother of the girl Mrs. Judy Moraa, she received a call from an unknown number informing her about the missing girl.
Moraa rushed to the school but her efforts to get an audience from the school administration were futile because they didn’t allow her into the school.
“The school guard did not open the gate for me so I decided to seek help from the police by reporting the matter at Ramasa police station.” She said.
After involving the police she said they were allowed in but her daughter could not be located in the whole school.
“We also visited and inquired from all our relatives but our efforts to get the girl were futile.” She said.
She revealed that some of her daughter’s clothes were found in the school toilet.
The discovery forced her to demand CCTV footage from the school administration for inspection to no avail.
Ramasa police station Commander Samuel Gitau confirmed having received the report about the mysterious disappearance of the school.
He said that the police have launched investigations into the matter.
Masaba South Sub County Director of Education David Sakanka has asked the parents to remain calm as the police and the Ministry of Education look into the matter.
The girl’s disappearance comes shortly after other several absurd incidents occurred at the school in the recent past.
For instance, it is reported that a man in the school neighborhood was arrested while cohabiting with a girl who had disappeared from the school.
In a similar ugly incident, a school staff was reported as having defiled a Form Two student in the school.
The case was reported at Keroka police station and the suspect was arrested and arraigned in the court of law at Keroka.
Parents who talked to Education News appealed to the administration to tighten security at the school in order to retain the confidence the parents had in the school.
