A hero’s welcome greets Uasin Gishu athletes returning from national competitions

Gabriel Majok was position one nationally in 100 metres.

As early as 8:00am Friday morning, Eldoret town was caught up in abrupt jubilation as the team of primary school athletes arrived from the national competitions.

The just concluded competitions took place in Nyeri County where teams from Rift Valley region showed their greatest talents and experience in athletics.

The Uasin Gishu team that arrived back home to a hero’s welcome.

One of the outstanding performers was Gabriel Majok, who took position one in 100M to qualify for the East Africa Athletics competitions to be held in June this year. He is a pupil at Kapsoya Primary School in Eldoret town.

Joan Cherotich was one of the star performers in the nationals.

According to Paul Tororei, the Uasin Gishu co-curricular activities chairman, the county was much more improved from last year, thanking the coaches and athletes for their superb work during the competitions.

He revealed that the Rift Valley Region took first position.
