Tana River County is currently in dire need of 130 adult education teachers to cope with the ever increasing number of adult learners in the region.
According to the Tana River County Adult Education Director, Daniel Korir, there are only 65 adult education teachers in the area.
The county adult education boss revealed that the current enrolment of adult learners stands at 250.
Korir urged the Government to employ more adult education teachers.
He stated that the move would enable learners to attend their lessons in a more efficient and effective manner.
Meanwhile, Kilifi County needs 250 adult education teachers to enhance effective teaching and learning at the literacy centres in the area.
Speaking to Education News in Kilifi town recently, Kilifi County Adult Education Director David Thengele said that there are only 90 adult education teachers in the county.
He added that out of the 90 adult teachers in the region, 36 are on full time basis, while 54 teachers are on part time.
