- Malindi Boys High School is set to receive Sh100 million in infrastructure funding from NG-CDF and the Affordable Housing Programme to upgrade it into a model national school.
- NG-CDF Committee Chairman Samuel Kazungu has confirmed that Sh8.5 million has already been spent on a new dining hall and water tanks.
- MP Amina Mnyazi launched the 300-capacity dining hall and announced the parallel construction of a Sh5 million assistant chief’s office under NGCDF funding.
Malindi Boys High School in Malindi Constituency, Kilifi County, is set to benefit from a Sh100 million infrastructural investment from the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) and the Affordable Housing Programme.
The investment is aimed at upgrading the institution to a model national school. NG-CDF Committee Chairman Samuel Kazungu said Sh8 million has already been spent on the construction of a dining hall. “We have pumped Sh8 million into this project of the dining hall, and we have also installed water tanks in the school, bringing the total NGCDF funds spent to Sh8.5 million,” he said.

Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi, who officially launched the 300-capacity dining hall at the school, said the development was geared towards making the institution a national school. “Malindi is one of the oldest schools in Kilifi County, and we plan to make it a national school and centre of excellence. To achieve that, we must improve the infrastructure, and so far we have spent Sh8 million from the NGCDF kitty, and more than Sh100 million will be from the Affordable Housing Programme,” she said.
At the same time, Mnyazi and her team also started the construction of the office of the area assistant chief, which will cost Sh5 million in NGCDF funding.
