Kinale Girls High School has received four rugby balls from Kenya Rugby Legends in a boost to its rugby programme following a visit by former Kenya international Fred Odhiambo.
Odhiambo, who represented Kenya between 1984 and 1993, visited the school on behalf of Kenya Rugby Legends and presented the equipment to the school.
The former international honed his rugby skills at Lenana School in Nairobi before playing for Impala RFC, Mean Machine and Barclays RFC. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi and served as Vice Chairman of the Kenya Rugby Union between 2006 and 2009. He is currently the Board of Management Chairperson at Hospital Hill High School.

Kinale Girls expressed appreciation for the donation, saying the support would help in nurturing talent and strengthening its rugby programme. The school is the national and East Africa champion in both rugby sevens and 15-a-side competitions, having established itself as one of the leading institutions in girls’ rugby.
The visit also gave the players an opportunity to interact with one of Kenya’s former international players and gain inspiration from his experience in the sport.
The school said it looked forward to continued support as it seeks to maintain its success and provide a platform for young rugby players to develop their talents.
