Several leaders from Bomet University have been recognised at the Jamhuri Africa Education, Campus and TVET Awards in a ceremony that celebrated leadership and contributions to the education sector.
Among those recognised were Bomet University Vice Chancellor Prof Charles Mutai, student leaders President Ruth Zico and President Collins Ndiwa, Secretary General Francis Obala and CS Sports Simon Peter.
The recognition has been welcomed by members of the university community, who described the awards as an acknowledgement of the leaders’ roles in advancing leadership and student affairs at the institution.
The awards brought together leaders and stakeholders in the education, campus and technical and vocational education and training sectors to recognise individuals for their contributions in their respective areas. The recognition of the Bomet University leaders has also highlighted the role of both university management and student leadership in shaping the institution’s activities and engagement with learners.
