The initiative gives students who have been placed at Kenyatta University but are dissatisfied with their allocated programmes an opportunity to seek admission into other courses offered within the institution before beginning their university studies.
The course transfer window is currently open and will close on August 28, 2026, giving newly admitted students time to review their placement and make applications where necessary.
The move is expected to ease the challenges often faced by first-year students who report to university only to discover that they have been admitted to courses they did not initially wish to pursue.
In many institutions, students seeking to change their programmes have to wait until after reporting before internal transfer applications are opened.
This can leave some learners spending weeks attending classes in courses they are not interested in while waiting for the transfer process.
