Tengecha Girls’ High School has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the institution has been closed, describing the information as false and misleading.
In an official statement issued on Thursday, the school administration assured parents, students, and the public that learning is continuing uninterrupted and that the institution remains fully operational.
The statement came after social media posts alleged that the Litein-based girls’ school had been shut down, sparking concern among parents and education stakeholders.
The administration clarified that all students are safe and attending their scheduled classes, while both academic and co-curricular activities are proceeding as planned.

“It has come to our attention that false reports are circulating alleging that Tengecha Girls High School has been closed. We wish to categorically state that these claims are untrue,” the statement read.
The school further urged members of the public to ignore the misleading reports and refrain from sharing unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic.
“We urge the public, parents and stakeholders to disregard the misleading information and rely only on official communication from the school administration,” the statement added.
Senior Principal Joice Chirchir reaffirmed the school’s commitment to providing quality education and maintaining transparency in its operations.
The administration emphasised that the statement represents the school’s official position and appealed to the public to verify information through official channels before sharing it on social media.
The clarification is expected to reassure parents and guardians following the circulation of the false claims online.
