Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Makueni branch chairman Samuel Mulwa has noted that what teachers want is development, especially in learning institutions and the entire education fraternity.
Speaking at Kaumoni Comprehensive School during an education tour for Principal Secretaries led by PS Terry Mbaika, Mulwa said that, as a result, KNUT is behind the government, starting at the grassroots, where PS Mbaika is.
“There is no pride in poverty. We fully support PS Mbaika, who has been supporting educational projects in the area.
We are going to support you fully as long as you are with us, we will,” said Mulwa.
With school holidays starting, he reminded parents to take full care of their children and engage them productively.
“As teachers, we have been with them, and they have come back safely. I encourage parents to ensure that these children remain busy revising, doing house chores, as well as engaging in meaningful relaxation,” he said.

With the ongoing rainy season, he also cautioned children to avoid water bodies, noting that many lives have been lost during this period.
