The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), has issued a notice to all senior school principals regarding the second phase of Grade 10 textbook distribution.
In a communication released on Wednesday, April 1, KICD chief executive officer Prof. Charles Ong’ondo confirmed that the first phase of textbook distribution, based on data initially provided by the Ministry of Education has been successfully completed.
To facilitate the next phase of textbook distribution and ensure that each student receives a textbook for every subject in accordance with the government’s one-to-one textbook policy, the institute is now seeking to confirm the enrollment numbers and subject choices for Grade 10 learners in all public secondary schools.

The institute is therefore requesting that all principals submit the latest data on the number of Grade 10 learners enrolled in their schools and their respective subject choices. Additionally, schools are asked to report on the textbooks they have already received for each subject.
This confirmation must be submitted by the end of the first term, with a firm deadline set for April 10, 2026.
Schools that have yet to receive textbooks or those that have received excess textbooks are advised to reach out to KICD via email at bookdistribution@kicd.ac.ke for further assistance.
Principals are encouraged to complete the required submission through the provided link https://forms.office.com/r/MqThQtBxQh
This effort aims to ensure that the government’s policy of providing textbooks to every Grade 10 student is fully realized in time for the 2026 academic year.
