Lekimbo Secondary eyes glory as Bomet County games kick off tomorrow

Ndaraweta Girls’ volleyball team, coached by one Kipkirui, are 2025 Bomet Central champions and will represent their sub-county at county games in Boito.

Former Bomet County volleyball champions Lekimbo Secondary School are back in the spotlight, determined to reclaim their lost glory as the Bomet County Secondary Schools term two games kick off tomorrow at Boito Secondary School.

The Bomet East Sub-county giants made headlines during the sub-county qualifiers when they knocked out defending champions Kiptulwa Secondary School 3-2 in a thrilling encounter — a statement that Lekimbo is once again a force to be reckoned with.

Placed in Pool A, Lekimbo will take on Olbutyo High School and Koiwa High School in what promises to be a fiery round of matches. With renewed energy, fresh talent, and seasoned guidance, Lekimbo is aiming to make a significant impact this year.

Principal Wilson Korir, speaking ahead of the county showdown, said his team is mentally and physically prepared for the challenge.

“We are not just participating — we are competing to win. The boys have trained hard, and knocking out the defending champions wasn’t a matter of luck. It was a message that Lekimbo is back,” said Korir.

The school, which boasts a proud sporting history, has spent the last few weeks fine-tuning tactics, sharpening serves, and instilling discipline — values that have always defined the institution’s approach to sports.

In the girls’ volleyball contest, defending champions Kaboson Girls Secondary School are in a comfortable position in Pool A, having already qualified for the next stage. They will only face Mulot Girls High School in what is expected to be a one-sided affair.

Meanwhile, two-time runners-up Cheptalal Girls, led by their principal Florence Koech, are determined to go all the way this year. They’ll compete against Tembwo Girls and Ndaraweta Secondary School in Pool B.
