The Malivani AIC Boarding and Comprehensive School fraternity in Wote ward, Makueni sub-county is reeling in shock after the school guard was murdered at night by unknown assailants.
Head teacher Joshua Mutuse confirmed the unfortunate incident adding that the guard was hacked to death with machetes before the thugs tried to break into the secretary’s and Head teacher’s office.
He disclosed that the thieves did not carry anything from the offices.
“They entered the school after cutting through the compound’s barbed wire fence. The school has three guards, two at night and one during the day, one of the night guards was killed,” he said.
Mutuse said that the incident occurred at 2 a.m. and thanked the police for their swift response.
Investigations have already been launched and assured parents and teachers of boarding students’ safety.
The deceased’s body has been moved to Makueni Referral Hospital for postmortem.
