Kenyatta High School in Mwatate sub-county, Taita Taveta County has maintained its high performance status in the Coast region after posting a mean score of 8.04 in the 2023 KCSE examinations.

With an entry of 257 candidates, the 2023 class produced 4 A (plain), 17 A-, 29 B+, 55 B (plain), 50 B- and 53 C+, representing an 81 percent transition rate to the university.

Chief Principal Kagutha D. Macharia pointed out that the impressive results, albeit a drop compared to the previous year, did not come easy.

“It was an amalgam of self-denial, dedication, and discipline. We also covered the syllabus in good time to allow for an adequate period for revision,” he said Macharia, adding that they will not rest until they attain a mean grade of 9.55 and above.

Bura Girls emerged as position two with a mean score of 7.64, Mwaghogho Boys obtained a mean score of 7.24 and scooped position three as Dr. Aggrey Boys High school took the fourth position with a mean score of 7.08.

Canon Kituri School attained a mean score of  6.87 emerging position 5 while Murray Girls followed at position 6 with a mean score of 6.21.
