“It is going to be very difficult to participate in cheating during this year’s national exams. If you do, we will easily detect and stern action,” warned Achoki.

He urged officials manning the exams to ensure that they are well managed and administered in accordance to the law.

“We want to administer credible exams, an examination that will reflect the true ability of our students,” Achoki stated.

He further called on parents not to be conned by fraudulent individuals promising to provide leakages for their children.

The Commissioner assured all candidates of tight security during the entire examination period to ensure they take their exams without any interference adding that enough security officers have been deployed across the Region to beef up security ahead of the three national exams.

“We have beefed up security in all counties to ensure that candidates move swiftly from their homes to examination centers. We have also deployed adequate security across all examination centers,” said Achoki.

The Commissioner noted that in counties adversely affected by drought, candidates shall be provided with food in schools.

Female learners will also be provided with sanitary towels to ensure they sit their exams devoid of interruptions.

Sugut said that all the supervisors, invigilators and center managers had been briefed adequately calling on them to put their best foot forward and work as a team to ensure they deliver credible examinations.

He added that in order to ensure timely distribution of exam materials, there will be a standby chopper to deliver them in areas where there will be challenges due to rain or other circumstances.
