The High Court in Nairobi today temporarily stopped the suspension of Kenyatta University (KU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Paul Wainaina and the university management.

The court also stopped subdividing, annexing or alienating the land contested, and also stopped the surrender of the title deeds to the government.

In a case filed by Law Society of Kenya which lists The National Lands Commission, Land Cabinet Secretary and six others as respondents, Environment and Land Court Judge O.A Angote allowed the petitioners prayers until July 27, 2022 when the application will be heard inter parties.

The don said he had been forced to resign and the university Council dissolved following their refusal to cede land for the World Health Organization (WHO) hub.

President Uhuru Kenyatta had threatened to deal with the KU Management swiftly and effectively.

WHO intended to build a Ksh600 million emergency hub on the land under contention.
