St. Joseph’s Girls secondary school Kitale posted an impressive performance in the 2020 KCSE to emerge the best school in Trans Nzoia County.
Education Cabinet Secretary, Prof. George Magoha termed the school as the second most improved school and was position 13 nationally. It had 287 candidates who posted a mean score of 9.95 an improvement from 6.7 in 2019 with 242 candidates.
“We finished the syllabus before Covid-19 broke out. We kept engaging the learners via digital learning when learning was disrupted,” said the school’s Principal, Rosebella Orwaru.
St. Joseph’s Girls secondary which is an extra county school has beaten the giant schools in the county including national schools like St. Joseph’s Boys and their counterparts, St. Anthony’s Boys who in the past have been dominating the top spots in the county.
Other giants that were shown dust include St. Brigid’s Girls Kiminini with 9.94, Lugulu Girls with 9.3 and Friends’ School Kamusinga with 9.2.
