Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged students of Asumbi Girls High School to work hard and remain disciplined if they are to succeed in life.
Speaking during a visit to the school in Homa Bay County, Kalonzo said education is the surest way to break the cycle of poverty and build future leaders.
He encouraged the girls to take their studies seriously and not allow distractions to derail their dreams.
“Your future is in your hands. The government, teachers, and parents can only support you, but the real work must come from you,” he told the students.
The former Vice President noted that girls’ education is critical for national development. He said an educated woman transforms not just her family but the entire community. He challenged the learners to aim for top grades and compete for opportunities both locally and internationally.

Kalonzo also commended the school administration for maintaining discipline and posting good results over the years. He urged the teachers to continue mentoring the girls beyond academics, including leadership and character formation.
He appealed to the national and county governments to invest more in girls’ schools through better classrooms, laboratories, and sanitary facilities.
