Parents and guardians flocked to Lenana School on Tuesday, June 2, morning after the institution ordered all students to leave following a disturbance reported during evening prep sessions.
In a notice issued by the school’s administration, learners were directed to leave the school beginning at 8:00 a.m. as management moved to restore calm and assess the situation.
The board of management and the administration said the decision was reached after a night marked by student restlessness and disruption, raising concerns over safety and the learning environment within the institution.
Parents were instructed to personally collect their sons or authorize representatives to do so, with the school emphasizing that no student would be released unaccompanied.
The unexpected closure disrupted learning activities and forced many families to make urgent travel arrangements to pick up students.

Some parents expressed concern over the abrupt announcement, while others welcomed the move, saying it would allow school officials adequate time to investigate the incident and implement corrective measures.
School authorities indicated that the temporary break would provide an opportunity for a comprehensive assessment of the circumstances surrounding the disturbance and help facilitate the restoration of normal operations.
Although the administration did not disclose the exact cause of the unrest, it assured parents that further communication regarding the reopening date and other arrangements would be issued once the assessment process is completed.
The incident comes amid heightened attention on student discipline and safety in schools across the country, with education stakeholders increasingly calling for stronger engagement between learners, parents and school administrations to address grievances before they escalate into disruptions.
